Meet Nicolette Hiott-Gamst, Employers’ Territory Manager-Nevada. Employers is Nevada’s first Workers Compensation Insurance Company. Many thanks to the forward thinking and skill set of CEO Doug Dirks. It was due to the hard work of the NIIA Legislative Committee and Lobbyist that changed Nevada from a monopolistic state and began allowing private insurers to sell this product in 1999.
Employers now writes compensation in all states aside from Monopolistic. They are thriving on technological advancements for the agents and policyholders. Their goal is to provide data with the speed of a button. Making insurance so easy, you can do it in your bunny slippers.
Nicolette enjoys partnering with Nevada based agents and sharing her knowledge she has gained from her 15 years of experience in commercial lines insurance sales and her new role at Employers which is a NIIA Platinum Industry Partner. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband, 4 children and 2 fur baby dogs.
She has been involved in the community by volunteering for NAWBO southern Nevada Community Relations and served the board for 4 years as well as held the Chair seat. She organized many fundraisers for time, donations, and monetary contributions. She also served on the membership committee of the Nevada Restaurant Association. She has a servant’s heart and states, “A heavy hand gives with their heart.”
From Nicolette’s involvement with the NIIA, she acknowledges the association as a resource proven to assist the independent agents with the latest news, events, legislation, and community outreach. NIIA board of directors is a team of professionals who find passion in the insurance industry. Generally, those in the is industry have a desire to help others in need. The current directors are examples of this and stand by their hashtag #StrongerTogether.
Over the years, Nicolette has enjoyed the social environment and connections she made when she was on the agent side of the business. Now that she is on the carriers’ side, she is looking forward to engaging and developing relationships to help independent agents succeed.
Originally coming from the hospitality business, Nicolette understands customers are always a priority. One of her favorite quotes is, “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.’ Maya Angelou.
